Suggested Learning Outcomes to Support and Assist Immersive Literacy
As I argued that immersive literacy requires an understanding of how to function in immersive simulations, and at a higher level, to understand how to create such simulations for others, hrere are suggested learning outcomes that could be employed by teachers.
Increasing Levels of Immersive Literacy
Learning Outcome
Understanding
Can articulate the advantages and disadvantages of VR, AR, and MR and why they are now termed XR.
Recognizes and Effectively Act on Immersive Literacy Cues
Can identify and explain the navigational and wayfinding clues learnt from playing computer games and how they could be incorporated into immersive learning environments.
Designs successful Immersive Environments to support immersive literacy
Creates an interesting and engaging immersive environment with appropriate affordances and signifiers that communicate the learning content effectively at the appropriate level of playing ability and experience.
Social co-creation
Participates effectively with other team members to plan, design, and evaluate the immersive environment and is able to reflect, critique, and constructively suggest improvements from the experience of playing their own and other teams’ immersive environments.
